Eminence

When the hour is late or early
And day’s last sparks are cast from your burning blue eyes
Deep soothing mysterious like the sea
Your supine body a range of soft bluffs
Outlined in the darkness or the drawing day
Promontory of your hip and feet
Eminence of shoulder and cheek
I’ll draw you in with reverence

Like a lone drover looking to a range hundreds of miles away
Satisfied knowing “she’s beautiful”
As though the beauty in that stillness resides
Within him and her alone
Between eyes and heart
And that great expanse of quietude

Wow, this is so good. As I read it I felt the quietude descending. I love the choice of words and the phrases.
I am not the kind who ripped verses but “Like a lone drover looking to a range hundreds of miles away/Satisfied knowing “she’s beautiful”” is so wonderful…
