Three Cheers for Monsters
Let’s hear it for the monsters
Hiding in our closets
So we don’t have to organize them
Or under our beds, which is fine, because we never look there, not even to vacuum
And three cheers for the zombies
Tottering like old relatives
“They think they can, they think they can”
Except they have no brains (they want yours)
Ghosts and the vampires
Revenants and horrors
They are just as god made them
And never intended them to be
We make love to the things that scare us
With a passion reserved for shadowy places
With a fervor that would make the light of day jealous
If it ever shone it’s dull cuckold face at an undead bacchanal
Let’s hear it for the demon we know
In an empty room at midnight
Sometimes, that’s all we’ve got

Great poem. I do not make love to zombies however. Not anymore. Not after…well, I just don’t anymore.
But yes – let’s hear it for the demon we know! *glances at personal demon and shivers a bit*

Really? Because i was talking to Abdiel, demom Lord of Slaves, and he was all like “Have Kristen call me…” and i was like “How do you even KNOW her?” and he just kind of laughed

Oh I love this. It got more and more intense as I read it and it was very easy to relate to it.
“We make love to the things that scare us
With a passion reserved for shadowy places
With a fervor that would make the light of day jealous
If it ever shone it’s dull cuckold face at an undead bacchanal”
This is pure genius! Very well written. It scared me a little too, but it was a nice scare. 😉
