Everybody’s Goal

In the home that haunts my flickering nights
Mountain gouged rail lines with peak-blasted flats
Towns on hot jetties of sebaceous lights
Mechanicals slump like slumbering cats

On the cool bosom of deepening woods
Victorian ladies wilt in a row
Miners stamp black off of calcified goods
Swooning of timbers as she’s soon to go

But Everybody’s Goal is to Mine More Coal
The woods will come back from 100 year fire
Now Everybody’s Goal was to Mine More Coal
And tourists come buzz to a guttering pyre
